WWII German Propaganda Leaflet – ROA Russian Liberation Army – Passierschein – October 1944
WWII German propaganda leaflet printed in Russian and German, intended for Soviet Red Army soldiers.
The front features an anti-Stalin propaganda message claiming that Stalin was preparing a new war against Britain and America, even before the war against Germany had ended. It urges Soviet soldiers to stop fighting for Stalin and cross over to the German side.
The message is signed “Volunteers of the ROA (Russian Liberation Army)” and bears the printed code 1051/X.44, indicating October 1944.
The reverse features a “Passierschein” (Safe Conduct Pass) with two German Wehrmacht eagle emblems. It states that the pass is valid for Soviet officers, political commissars and soldiers wishing to surrender or defect to German forces, the Russian Liberation Army (ROA), or other allied volunteer formations.
The leaflet also explains that soldiers could cross over without a pass by raising both hands and shouting “Stalin kaput!”
Condition: Age-related discoloration, original fold lines, creases and minor wear. The printing remains clear and legible on both sides. Please see photos for details.
An interesting historical example of German psychological warfare and anti-Soviet propaganda from the final stages of WWII.
