Relic MP40 Submachine Gun with Early MP38 Aluminium Grip Frame

Battlefield-recovered relic MP40 submachine gun featuring the desirable early-pattern MP38 aluminium grip frame. This untouched relic was recovered in heavily corroded condition and retains a remarkable amount of original wartime character.

The aluminium lower receiver and grip frame remain clearly identifiable, while traces of the original bakelite grip panels are still present. The receiver tube, barrel assembly, front sight base, and several external components survive, displaying authentic combat and ground-recovery wear accumulated over decades.

The MP40 was one of the most iconic German submachine guns of the Second World War, widely used by Wehrmacht, Waffen-SS, airborne, and armored units on every front. Early MP40s often incorporated components inherited from the MP38, including the distinctive aluminium grip frame seen on this example.

Condition: Untouched relic condition with heavy corrosion, pitting, and oxidation. Numerous components are incomplete, damaged, or non-functional. Remnants of the original grip panels remain attached to the aluminium frame. An attractive display and restoration-reference piece with excellent historical appearance.

A scarce relic example, made particularly interesting by the surviving MP38-pattern aluminium lower assembly, a feature increasingly difficult to find on the collector market.
